STANDARDS-BASED TECHNOLOGY HELPS DRIVE TICKER TECHNOLOGIES TO CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF 45-PERCENT GROWTH
Dell Hardware, Linux Operating System Provide An Advantage Versus Ticker Technologies' Larger Rivals

NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2003 -Standards-based Dell technology running the Linux operating systems is giving Ticker Technologies a leg up on larger competition.

The company has used Dell PowerEdge servers, Dimension desktops and Inspiron notebook computers to gain a competitive advantage over larger rivals.

Since installing standards-based technology, the company, based in Glen Head, N.Y., has increased revenue 45 percent year over year for the past two years.

"This technology allows us to take a modular approach to growth so we're not forced into a large, up-front technology investment that we may not need until months or years down the line," said Daniel Pedisich, vice president of infrastructure management, Ticker Technologies. "It's played an instrumental part in helping us serve our customers and grow our business during a difficult economic period."

Ticker Technologies provides Internet software applications for integrating content, such as stock quotes and financial charts, into Internet, intranet and extranet Web sites for its Fortune 1000 customers. The company has deployed more than 25 Dell PowerEdge servers running Red Hat Linux and Windows 2000 Server for the company's Web, database and other software applications.

"We work very closely with our customers to determine peak times of high Web site traffic volume and plan our infrastructure resources accordingly," Pedisich said. "If we need more capacity, we can easily add more Dell servers into our back-end infrastructure to accommodate more Web site traffic."
