Ticker Technologies Releases Version 3.0 Stock and News Tickers NEW YORK, October 16, 2002 - Ticker Technologies, Inc. (http://www.tickertech.com), a premier provider of applications for integrating market-related content into Internet, Intranet, and Extranet sites, announces the release of Version 3.0 of the company's Stock and News Ticker products. The Stock and News Tickers are designed to be seamlessly integrated into clients' corporate Intranet or public Internet sites, delivering stock quotes and news information to users in an eye-catching, aesthetically pleasing, and efficient manner. Users can click through on the ticker to retrieve detailed quotes and charts, as well as full news stories, delivered via private-labeled content pages that also seamlessly integrate into clients' sites. Programmed using Sun's (NASDAQ: SUNW) Java technology, the Stock and News Ticker products utilize Java Applets to constantly update and display stock quotes and news throughout the day. Enhancements released in Version 3.0 include increased graphical capabilities such as the ability to scroll full color company logos along with stock prices. Clients have the ability to customize the Stock Ticker to display the stocks, bond yields, mutual funds, and indices of their choice. Clients can also opt to allow the end-user to customize the Ticker with their own choices. In Version 3.0, the ability to customize the content shown in the ticker is taken to a new level of ease, adding special symbols to integrate stocks by industry, state, or even zip code, as well as most actives, big gainers, and big losers from the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and American Stock Exchange. Improvements made to the news ticker include the ability to vertically scroll entire news stories as well as headlines, and a new optional GUI (graphical user interface) complete with directional, pause, and speed control buttons. News content choices have also been upgraded, with a wider range of subject and industry news codes, and expanded content for Canadian companies. Ticker Technologies Inc. (TTI) powers its Stock and News ticker product with a fleet of Dell (NASDAQ: DELL) PowerEdge servers running the RedHat (NASDAQ: RHAT) Linux operating system. TTI's server infrastructure is located at NTT/Verio (NYSE: NTT)'s Manhattan data center, where triple-redundant connections to the Verio backbone ensure connectivity, and UPS power backup and diesel generators ensure that all systems remain online even during power outages. "We take redundancy and uptime very seriously," stated Daniel Pedisich, TTI's VP of Infrastructure Management. "Clients who use our Ticker Product Line can be assured of the quality of our products as well as the reliability of our systems."
